Tanzania Safari and Beach
Experience the wonders of game drives in the beautiful Tarangire reserve and Ngorongoro Crater before embarking on your 4-stay safari in the stunning Serengeti National Park. From here you take the short flight across to Zanzibar to explore the World Heritage site of Stone Town and enjoy a few nights in one of Zanzibar’s relaxing beach resorts.
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – PAJE BEACH ZANZIBAR – STONE TOWN
Day 1: Arrival:
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you are met by your driver/guide and transferred to a boutique hotel close to Arusha town where you have dinner and your first night stay.
Overnight at Lake Duluti Lodge or similar. (Half board)
Day 2: Tarangire National Park.
An early start after breakfast to drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours’drive) for a full day game drive. Tarangire has a diverse landscape, with ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) dotting the landscape and dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River, which meanders through the park, attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, zebra, giraffes, antelopes to a variety of colourful birds. You stop for a picnic lunch in an observatory inside the park where you can view animals drinking water in the river, before driving to your camp where you arrive in time for dinner.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park.
Today you enjoy another day at Tarangire National Park, exploring the flora and fauna of the land. The park is famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari there you will have the chance of quietly observing many families of elephants interacting.

Day 4: Crater tour.
You check out from the camp after breakfast to drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You descend into the crater through a lush highland forest, with magnificent birdlife to be spotted among the different tree species. Once on the grassy crater floor, you may discover a large variety of grazing herbivores, as well as the predators that are attracted by this abundant supply of prey. You have the option to do a nature walk on the rim of the crater with an NCA ranger, returning to your camp later in the afternoon after a picnic lunch.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Central
After breakfast you drive to the Serengeti National via a Maasai village for a cultural tour where you learn about their life. Then you proceed on, and spread out before you as far as the eye can see, is the vast Serengeti. Serengeti mean “endless plains” in Swahili and this 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including more than a million wildebeest, plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey which migrate throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons and African hares also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Central.
You start your day with morning game drives around the central Serengeti exploring the flora and fauna of this beautiful part of the Serengeti. After lunch at the Ang’ata Serengeti Camp, you check out and proceed towards the Northern Serengeti enjoying game drives en route. You arrive at Bologonja 1 special campsite later in the evening before dark, and may have the opportunity to watch the sun set.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park – North.
After an early breakfast you drive towards Kogatende close to the Mara river for a game drive and possibly to watch the river crossing of wildebeests. You can enjoy a picnic lunch or you can return to your camp for a late lunch.

Day 8: Serengeti National park – North.
You spend another day around the Northern Serengeti for game drives.

Day 9: Serengeti – Zanzibar.
After an early morning game drive, you return to your camp for breakfast before being transferred to Lobo Airstrip for your local flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport you are met by our representative for your transfer you to a beautiful resort located in Paje, on the South East coast of Zanzibar arriving before dark in time for hot shower, dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Hakuna Majiwe Lodge. (Half board)
Days 10 – 13: Hakuna Majiwe.
You spend 4 days at Hakuna Majiwe, enjoying different activities including kite surfing, diving, snorkelling and discovery – Marine life. Hakuna Majiwe is in the perfect location for an aperitif in the delightful open-air palafitta built directly on the beach and with superb views. You can lounge on sofas and enjoy cocktails or tea whilst admiring the horizon or the dazzling beauty of the night sky. Hakuna Majiwe features a large fresh water swimming pool, massage corner, and boutique. In addition the hotel offers bicycle hire – a perfect way to explore the island. All these can be organized while in the lodge (extras charged locally), Dinner and overnight at Hakuna Majiwe Lodge. (Half board)
Day 14: Transfer to Stone Town
After breakfast you check out from the hotel and transfer to Stone Town; enjoying a spice tour en route. You explore the World Heritage site of Stone Town, an atmospheric and vibrant example of all the remaining traditional Swahili settlements. Culturally modern Stone Town is a melting pot that embraces visitors and offers a selection of fine dining and curious attractions without compromising its old world charm.
Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn. (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 15: Transfer to Dar es Salaam.
You have the morning at leisure to explore Stone Town again after checking out from your hotel; later after lunch you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home.
